John “Eagle” Burch ’51 was honored by Saint Gabriel’s Hall in Philadelphia in January 2003, which renamed its gymnasium after him.
Julien Williams ’69 is Chairman of the Citizens Transportation Advisory Council for 2002-2003. The council includes appointed persons from Richmond, Va.’s eight surrounding metropolitan planning organization jurisdictions.

Peter Dunne ’80, President of Franklin/Trade Graphics and a member of the McIntire School Advisory Board, and his wife, Carmen, celebrated the birth of their second son, Kelly Robert, born Oct. 9, 2003. Kelly weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. Says Peter, “Baby and Mom are doing well, and Dad and brother Christopher are thrilled.”
Eric Keshin ’80, a member of the McIntire School Advisory Board, was named Regional Director of McCann-Erickson North America in June 2003. Keshin is in charge of agency network offices and subsidiary shops in 19 cities and becomes one of four regional directors of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, one of the world’s largest international advertising agency networks.
Thomas H. Cook Jr. ’81 is Chair of the Tax Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and was also recently named by
Business North Carolina as one of North Carolina’s Legal Elite in the field of tax law. He is a Partner in the Raleigh office of Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP.
Brian Eytchison ’82 and his wife, Amy, had their fourth child, Aubrey Hope, Nov. 8, 2002. Aubrey joins a sister, Emily, and brothers, Patrick and Lucas. Mr. Eytchison is Director of Corporate Finance for CBRL Group. The family resides in Brentwood, Tenn.
Lisa Genova ’82 (Law ’87) is the Chief Investment Officer of Giuliani Partners, which was founded by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and a number of senior officials from his administration. The firm provides strategic management consulting advice and makes investments in companies in the security, public safety, and emergency management arenas. She was formerly a Managing Director in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley (for 15 years).
W. Gray Stettinius ’83, President of Tuckahoe Creek Construction, was profiled in a Sept. 29, 2003,
Richmond Times-Dispatch article headlined “Home Builder’s Reputation Draws Attention; Tuckahoe Creek Finalist Tonight for International Business Ethics Award.” Tuckahoe Creek Construction won the Better Business Bureau’s Richmond Torch Award for Marketplace Integrity earlier this year and was a finalist for the International Torch Award.
Ann Thomasson Hutchinson ’85 and her husband, Andrew, had their third child and second daughter, Meredith Ann, Aug. 5, 2002. Meredith joins Spencer and Kathleen. The family resides in Coral Gables, Fla.
Ann Clayton Pizzo Chamberlain ’86 and her husband, John, adopted their first child, Joseph Dickson Bridges, Jan. 10, 2003. He was born Jan. 4, 2003. The family resides in New Orleans.
Laura Dromerick ’86 is Associate Director of Business Services for the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland. Ms. Dromerick works with senior executives, mentors, scholars, and volunteers to oversee services to entrepreneurs.
Jenny Repass Kobin ’88 was named Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for TriPath Imaging Inc. of Burlington, N.C. Kobin will provide leadership for all investor relations and corporate communications activities.
Andrea Lawrence ’88 is Vice President of Estate Planning and a Fiduciary Specialist with Calibre, a Philadelphia-based practice of Wachovia Wealth Management. Ms. Lawrence resides in Wayne, Pa.

Randy Bryan ’90 was promoted to Executive Vice President of Hibernia. Formerly Senior Vice President, Bryan manages Hibernia’s Marketing and Delivery Channel Management group. Before joining Hibernia in 1994, he served as COO of Foster Corporation in New Orleans. He is also on the board of directors of Kingsley House and VIA Link, both in New Orleans, and an active volunteer with Trinity Episcopal Church in New
Orleans.

Jon Nance ’91 married Shonda Thornton in Charlotte, N.C., April 12, 2003. Jon is the Director of IT Solutions for Exervio Consulting in Charlotte. He also enjoys his
part-time role as a certified personal trainer at the local YMCA.
Ginny Burgin ’93 and her husband, Andy, welcomed their third child—another boy! Everett Andrew was born Aug. 18, 2003. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. Says Ginny, “Having three boys under the age of 3 makes for quite a busy house!”
Jason Dandridge ’93 and Allison Schumacher Dandridge ’93 had their second child, Tess Marie, Sept. 2, 2002. Tess joins older sister Leah. The family resides in Richmond, Va.
Dan Gropper ’93 and Tammy Allen (A&S ’94) were married Aug. 11, 2001. Ms. Allen is the Special Assistant to the President of the Population Council. Mr. Gropper is a Portfolio Manager at Elliot Associates. The couple resides in Pound Ridge, N.Y.
Debbie Stohn (Master’s in MIS ’93) says that “life in New Hampshire is good!” She spends time with her grandchildren, Wesley, age 3, and Katie, age 1, and runs a communications business of a national scope. “Fun is a weekend at a road course with my Nissan 240SX. We run time trials!”

Panos Boudouvas ’95 graduated in June 2003 from the Tuck School of Business, where he was elected a Tuck Scholar. In the fall of 2003, he joined Ferrer Freeman & Company LLC, a $500 million private equity firm focused exclusively on the healthcare sector. He married Cate Kelly in October 2003, and the couple lives in New Canaan, Conn.
Chris Leonard ’95 and Michele Nimmich Leonard (A&S ’95; Education ’96) had their first child, Owen Randolph, July 11, 2002. The family resides in Baltimore.
Brian Lineweaver ’95 (Master’s in MIS ’96) and Kerrie Stevenson ’97 were married July 13, 2002. Mr. Lineweaver is a Systems Consultant with Acumen Solutions. Ms. Stevenson is a Marketing Manager with IBM. The couple resides in Falls Church, Va.
Donna Staton ’95 (Master’s in MIS ’00) works for Information Management Consultants, in McLean, Va., where she works on a project for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), providing all system integration, software development, and data warehouse support for two major divisions of NIDA (Division of Treatment Research & Development and the Center for Clinical Trials Network). Staton is currently the Project Manager for all of the software development efforts for NIDA, including a Livelink document management system; client/server applications; and various web applications ranging from Cold Fusion, ASP, and Java. She also recently was promoted to Project Manager Expert for Information Management Consultants. Staton also adds that her family has grown significantly. “Since graduating from McIntire in May 2000, my husband, Bart Staton, and I have had two children. Noah was born in February 2001 and Zachary in February 2003. Life is very busy and involves a lot of juggling, but we couldn’t be happier.”
Erin Thomas Russell ’96 and William P. Russell Jr. were married Nov. 9, 2002. Ms. Russell is an Associate at the private equity firm of Vestar Capital Partners. The couple resides in New York City.

Running Back and Kick-Return Specialist for the New York Giants; Ronde is an

Allison Lynn Cobb ’98 married Andrew Charles Bolyard Aug. 3, 2002. Ms. Bolyard is a Financial Analyst at Procter & Gamble. Mr. Bolyard is employed by Fifth Third Bank. The couple resides in Cincinnati.

StreetAuthority, a stock market newsletter
publisher with more than 20,000 subscribers around the world.
Sharif El-Mahdi ’01 reports that he was recently cast in a new reality TV show for Fox and was flown to an undisclosed location in mid-July 2003 for a month of filming. The new series will begin airing in November 2003 or February 2004. Sharif also signed a record deal with Rothschild Records and will finish recording his second album in September 2003, collaborating with producers who have worked with Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Train, and Pharrell Williams. “My modeling career also seems to be going well,” Sharif adds. “I recently appeared in ads for Dockers pants and Ascot Formal Wear. I’ve even found enough spare time to act in some HBO shows, including ‘The Wire’ and the new movie ‘Iron Jawed Angels.’” Check out Sharif’s Web site,

Mike Hammel (Master’s in MIS ’01) became a grandfather July 15, 2003. Says Hammel, “My son and his wife had a girl, and we are enjoying and spoiling her as much as we can.” Also, in May 2003, Hammel became a
PMI-Certified Project Management Professional. He works for the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries (DGIF), although he will be transitioning to the new Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) in the next year or so as the VITA Service Level Director to DGIF.

Keith Donnelly (A&S ’91; Master’s in MIT ’02) married Pamela Perkins in November 2002 in the U.Va. Chapel. Donnelly is the Webmaster for the Information Technology and Communications division of U.Va.
James Bayer (Master’s in MIT ’02) is an Information Systems Manager with the State Department’s Foreign Service. Bayer has attended classes at the Foreign Service Institute in Northern Virginia since May 2003 and will continue until February 2004. He will then head for the U.S. embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, staying for a year. Says Bayer, “After Islamabad, my next assignment is wide open. My wife, Indira, and two sons, Adel and Eddie, are very supportive, although the next year will be difficult for us all. They will not be able to join me in Islamabad, as it is an unaccompanied assignment. They will remain in Virginia through the next year and join me at my next post. Despite the separation, this should be an exciting transition. This position allows me involvement in events directly affecting our country while doing work that I enjoy. Who could ask for more?”

Rhian Thompson (Master’s in MIT ’02) and her husband, Mike, announce the birth of their daughter, Morgaine Trinity Thompson Agrillo, born May 18, 2003. Mike is Executive Vice President of Computer Systems Management Inc. (CSMi); Rhian is the Director of eBusiness Solutions at CSMi.
Josh Caplan ’03 is a Peace Corps Volunteer in Grenada until 2005. He works in the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and the Child Welfare Authority, helping each organization in various information technology-related areas and training staff members. Says Caplan, “The work so far has been very rewarding. I know I will make a difference during my time in Grenada. Without a doubt, the decision to serve in the Peace Corps has been one of the best I have ever made. I have already learned so much. So much more is yet to come!”
David Carpluk (Master’s in MIT ’03) is a Senior Director at Oracle, where he is responsible for the creation and execution of Oracle’s Global Partner Strategy and Initiatives for its Database and Application Server Solutions. Says

Gregg Gustafson (Master’s in MIT ’03) is the Director of Information Technology Services at Christopher Newport University, in the Tidewater, Va., region. He is responsible for all data networks and systems, telephony, and cable and satellite television. Gregg’s department supports 1,200 support staff and 5,000 students.
David Meredith (Master’s in MIT ’03), Vice President of Customer Interaction and Business Intelligence for the Communications, Media, and Entertainment group at American Management Systems, wrote an article for
Wireless Week in the Oct. 15, 2003, issue called “Countdown to Local Number Portability.”
Erin Smith (Master’s in MIT ’04) accepted a new opportunity as a Senior Vice President, Client Services at Digital Focus, where she will be responsible for overseeing IT-related client projects that fuse business with technology to drive value to clients. Her new role elevates her to a direct report with the CEO, giving her the opportunity to work with financial services, telecommunications, and manufacturing clients and local venture capitalists.
