Andrew J. Downing

Andrew Downing is currently CEO of GlobeMed Resources, an international health care staffing company. The company's primary focus is to hire Indian nurses and place them in permanent positions with U.S. hospitals. GlobeMed Resources has eight offices and 28 full-time staff members in India who source, train, and support the immigration process for Indian nurses. GlobeMed was established in May 2002 and is already recognized by the Indian government as a premier staffing company.

Mr. Downing was previously President and COO of Metro Information Services, a publicly traded IT services company. Metro went public in 1997 and peaked with $315 million in revenue, 3,800 employees, and 47 offices throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Metro was acquired by Keane Inc. in December 2001.

Mr. Downing graduated from the University of Virginia in 1978 with a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce. He does guest lecturing for the entrepreneur classes in the spring and facilitates "sales 101" seminars in the fall.
