McIntire School Advisory Board
Marcia K. Krause Marcia (Marci) Krause is a partner
in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services
office and leader of the Exempt Organizations Practice. The Exempt
Organizations Practice helps tax-exempt clients in the health care,
education, not-for-profit, and other service sectors navigate through
tax issues and maximize their resources. With more than 18 years of
experience in providing tax services to many nonprofit organizations,
Ms. Krause takes the lead role in bringing tax savings and compliance
ideas to these organizations. Her clients are located all over the
country, so she travels extensively.
Ms. Krause consults regularly on numerous tax issues confronting
nonprofit organizations, including unrelated business income,
legislative activities, executive compensation, treatment of independent
contractors, related private inurement issues, and reorganizations of
exempt organizations. She has extensive IRS controversy experience and
has represented taxpayers in some of the largest examinations of exempt
organizations in the country.
Ms. Krause holds a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of
Virginia and an M.S. in Taxation from the College of William & Mary. She
is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Ms. Krause splits her time between Old Town Alexandria and Virginia
Beach, Va., where her fiancé, Dave Doxey, resides. She enjoys the beach
and outdoor activities. Ms. Krause is also very committed to charitable
organizations and is very involved with several fundraising activities
connected to the American Cancer Society and similar type organizations.
