Marcia K. Krause

Marcia (Marci) Krause is a partner in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office and leader of the Exempt Organizations Practice. The Exempt Organizations Practice helps tax-exempt clients in the health care, education, not-for-profit, and other service sectors navigate through tax issues and maximize their resources. With more than 18 years of experience in providing tax services to many nonprofit organizations, Ms. Krause takes the lead role in bringing tax savings and compliance ideas to these organizations. Her clients are located all over the country, so she travels extensively.

Ms. Krause consults regularly on numerous tax issues confronting nonprofit organizations, including unrelated business income, legislative activities, executive compensation, treatment of independent contractors, related private inurement issues, and reorganizations of exempt organizations. She has extensive IRS controversy experience and has represented taxpayers in some of the largest examinations of exempt organizations in the country.

Ms. Krause holds a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in Taxation from the College of William & Mary. She is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Ms. Krause splits her time between Old Town Alexandria and Virginia Beach, Va., where her fiancé, Dave Doxey, resides. She enjoys the beach and outdoor activities. Ms. Krause is also very committed to charitable organizations and is very involved with several fundraising activities connected to the American Cancer Society and similar type organizations.
