McIntire Young Alumni Council: Members
MYAC represents alumni from the last nine graduating
classes.
Through the various committees, members seek to engage current students,
faculty, and young alumni.
Many of MYAC's members are interested in mentoring
students, collaborating with faculty and working with student

Jacey Anderson
Mentoring
Jacey Anderson graduated from the Commerce School in 2000, with a
concentration in finance and was a manager of the McIntire
Investment Institute. She is currently the vice president of
Operations for Convoy Management, a Philadelphia-based recording and
touring artist management company. Before her current position, Jacey was an
analyst at the New York-based investment banking
boutique
Greenhill & Co., where she participated in mergers and
acquisitions,
restructuring, and private equity transactions.

Moira Ballard
Communications
(MYAC Secretary)
Moira Ballard (nee Moira John-Williams) graduated from the Commerce
School in 1999, with concentrations in management information
systems and marketing. She worked as an IT consultant for
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for three years. In 2004, she received a
master of fine arts degree in digital production arts from Clemson
University. She currently works as a contracting video editor and
graphics artist for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in
Washington, D.C. While at U.Va., Moira was an active member of the
University's gospel choir, Black Voices, and the Peer Advisor
Program, sponsored by the Office of African-American Affairs.

Devin Battiston graduated
from McIntire in 2006, with a concentration in finance. He now lives
in Charlotte, N.C., and works for Banc of America Securities as an
analyst in the Real Estate/CMBS Capital Markets group. While at U.Va.,
he was a member of the Governing Board of the Inter-Fraternity
Council. |

Joseph Bonura Jr.
Mentoring
Joe Bonura Jr. graduated from the Commerce School in
2000, with a concentration in management information systems and a
minor in computer science. He worked at AMS and Dominion Digital in
Northern Virginia for two years before moving home to Newburgh,
N.Y., where he works as a real estate developer. Joe is on MYAC's Curriculum/Mentor
Committee and is currently working on a 25-acre
brownfield redevelopment project in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Peter
Chao
Communications
Peter Chao is a co-founding principal of The Calgary Group. Prior to
founding the firm, Pete was with Apax Partners, a $20 billion global
private equity firm, where he focused on making platform investments
and managing portfolio companies in the business services,
consumer/retail. healthcare, media, and IT sectors. Before joining
Apax, he was with Code Hennessy & Simmons, a Chicago-based $2.5
billion private equity firm, where he evaluated, structured and
monitored middle-market leveraged buyout investments. Pete also
worked in the Leveraged Capital Group at Wachovia Securities Inc.,
structuring and underwriting mezzanine and equity co-investments.
While studying for his M.B.A., Pete was a co-founding principal at
Actualize Consulting LLC, a startup consulting practice which has
grown to $20+ million in revenue. Pete holds an M.B.A. from the
University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and received a
B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of
Virginia.

Chattleton
Fundraising (Chair)
David Chattleton graduated from the
Commerce School in 2000, with concentrations in finance and
management. After graduation, Dave worked at McKinsey &
Company in Washington, D.C., for two years, focusing on M&A
transactions and wholesale banking. Currently, he works as an
associate for Morgan Stanley's Strategic Planning group. While
at U.Va., Dave was involved in the University Guide Service, the Raven
Society, and U.Va. Lead. He and his wife, Christy, live in New
York City.

Jonathan Chou
Social
Jonathan Chou graduated from McIntire in 2002, with
concentrations in finance and marketing and a minor in Spanish.
While at U.Va., he was co-captain of the varsity men's tennis team
and a student athlete mentor. After graduation, Jonathan worked as
an analyst within Citigroup's Corporate & Investment bank in New
York. He subsequently joined Gladstone Capital in McLean, Va., first
as an associate, and then as a principal, to help source, evaluate,
and structure subordinated debt and private equity investments.
Jonathan is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at the Darden Graduate School
of Business. |

Cignarella
Social
Anthony Cignarella graduated from the Commerce School in 2003.
After graduation, he worked in New York City for one year at McCann-Erickson
on the ExxonMobil global advertising account. Recently, Anthony
moved to Boston to pursue a career at Digitas, where he works on the
Delta Airlines account, focusing on domestic promotions. While at
U.Va., he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, traveled abroad to Spain,
and spent a year living in the Casa Bolivar.

Gibson
Mentoring (Chair)
Brett Gibson is a 2002 McIntire graduate and resident of Arlington,
Va. He is employed by The Carlyle Group and the U.S. Army. During
the business week he is an analyst in the U.S. Real Estate group at
Carlyle; on the weekend he is a first lieutenant in the Virginia
Army National Guard. Brett has worked with The Carlyle Group since
February 2006 and completed Army Ranger School in May 2004.

Glynn
(Membership Chair)
Strategy
Mike Glynn graduated from the Commerce School in 2001, with
concentrations in finance and accounting. Since graduating from U.Va.,
Mike has lived in New York City. Mike worked at Bear, Stearns & Co.
Inc. for 5 years in Investment Banking and Fixed Income and
currently works at UBS Investment Bank as an associate director in
Real Estate Finance. While at U.Va., Mike was an active member of
Commerce Council, Madison House, Phi Sigma Pi, and various other
organizations within McIntire and on Grounds. Mike and Amanda
Richardson are the founding members of MYAC.

Hamerschlag
Fundraising
Ivy Society Liaison
Dana Hamerschlag graduated
from the Commerce School in 1998, with concentrations in finance and
international business and a minor in Russian studies. She spent
five years as a consultant, then as a project leader with the Boston
Consulting Group, where she built experience leading clients through
transformational change efforts in a variety of industries,
including consumer goods and retail, global building materials, and
pharmaceuticals. She is now pursuing her M.B.A. at Harvard Business
School. She resides in Fairfax, Va. (at least on weekends) with her
husband, Kevin DeTurris.

Heckman

Mentoring
Chris Heckman is a 1998 McIntire graduate with concentrations in
finance and marketing. Upon graduation, Chris joined Wachovia
Securities’ as an Analyst and is now a Vice President underwriting
Asset-Based Credit Facilities in the Capital Finance Group. While
attending the Commerce School he was an active member of the
McIntire Investment Institute and also worked as an assistant to the
video coordinator for Virginia Cavalier football during the
1997-1998 season. Chris currently resides in the Philadelphia area
with his wife, Christine, and three children, Alexis, Adam, and
Andrew. Prior to attending U.Va., Chris served on active duty a
Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. |

J. David Hobbs
Social
David Hobbs graduated from McIntire in 2006, with a concentration in
finance. While at U.Va., David served as chairman of the Honor
Committee and was an active member of St. Anthony Hall and the IMP
and Raven societies. He now resides in New York and works in the
real estate division at The Blackstone Group.

Luke Holman
Communications
Luke Holman graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2006,
with concentrations in marketing and management. While at U.Va., he
was a resident adviser and a member of Professor Jack Lindgren's promotions
team that won the 2006 American Advertising Federation's National
Scholastic Advertising Competition. He is now working for Booz Allen
Hamilton as a consultant in the firm's global pricing division. He
lives in McLean, Va. |

Lisa Jeffreys
Mentoring
Lisa Jeffreys graduated from the Commerce School in 2002, with
concentrations in finance and international business. She now
resides in New York and works as an equity salesperson for Jefferies
and Company, Inc., a global investment bank and institutional
securities firm. Prior to Jefferies, Lisa spent three years as an
investment banking analyst, most of her time spent in Banc of
America Securities’ Consumer & Retail group. At U.Va., Lisa was an
active member or Pi Beta Phi sorority serving as Recruitment Chair
and Philanthropy Chair. |

S. Shaw Joseph
Social
Shaw Joseph graduated from the Commerce School in 2004, with
concentrations in finance and accounting. At U.Va., Shaw served as
the chairman for Membership Intake for the Inter-Fraternity Council
and was an active member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He now resides in
San Francisco and works for Hellman & Friedman, a global private
equity investment firm. |

Joanna Marten
Communications
Joanna Marten graduated from McIntire in 2005, with a
concentration in marketing and management and a minor in Spanish.
She served as president and business manager of the McIntire
Consulting Group and was also active in the ISCJC and her sorority.
Upon graduation, Joanna joined Navigant Consulting in its Litigation
and Investigations practice in Chicago. After working on an FCPA
investigation for the SEC, she has recently relocated to the
Government Contracting practice group in Vienna, Va. |

Logan Moncrief
Social
Logan Moncrief graduated from McIntire in 2004, with a
concentration in finance. He now lives in New York and works for JPMorgan Partners.
While at U.Va., Logan was active in Madison House and the Raven
Society and served as a Vice Chair of the Honor Committee.

Jody
Moore
Social
Jody Moore graduated from the Commerce School in 2003, with a
concentration in finance and a minor in Spanish. Jody spent her
first year after graduation learning about venture capital and
private equity at Cambridge Associates in Boston. In 2004, Jody moved
to the Monitor Group, a strategy consulting firm, where she worked
out of their Cambridge, Mass., office for two years. Recently, Jody
transferred to London with the Monitor Group, where her focus is on
international marketing strategy consulting. While at U.Va., Jody
was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, the University Guide
Service, and the McIntire Investment Institute.

Hang (Michelle) Nguyen

Hang (Michelle) Nguyen graduated from McIntire in 2007. While at the
University, she served on the McIntire Commerce Council and was also
a member of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority Inc., the Class of
2007 Trustees, the Chinese Student Association, and the Raven
Society. She is currently working for Merrill Lynch as a part of the
Mergers & Acquisitions Group in New York City. |

Andy Paradis

Andy Paradis graduated with distinction from the Commerce School in
2007, with a concentration in finance and a second major in
economics. At the University, Andy served as the president of the
Inter-Fraternity Council and was active in St. Anthony Hall and the I.M.P. and Raven societies. Andy now lives in New York City and
works in the real estate private equity division of The Blackstone
Group. |

Devon Pearce
Mentoring
Devon Pearce graduated from the Commerce School in 2004, with
concentrations in marketing and management. While at U.Va., Devon
was involved with Madison House, the Raven Society, Pi Beta Phi, and
various other organizations around Grounds. After graduating from
U.Va., she worked in private education before pursuing a graduate
degree at Harvard University. Devon now lives in Washington, D.C.
and works for The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C., in the Sales &
Marketing division. |

Erika Pearson

Erika Pearson graduated from the McIntire
School of Commerce in 2006, with concentrations in finance and
management. While at U.Va., Erika was involved in the University
Guide Service, SAFE, and other organizations around Grounds. She is
now working as a consultant at The Monitor Group, a management
consulting firm, and living in Boston. |

D. Patrick
Pettay
Strategy (Chair)
D. Patrick Pettay graduated form the Commerce School in 1999, with
concentrations in finance and international business. He also
majored in economics in the College of Arts & Sciences. While at the
University, Patrick was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and
the Jefferson Literary and Debate Society, was a DJ on 91.1 WNRN,
and represented McIntire on the University’s Student Council. After
graduation, Patrick worked in corporate finance and the music
industry in New York and graduated with his M.B.A. from the Wharton
School in May 2006. Patrick currently works at Fox Interactive Media
in its entertainment business development group in Beverly Hills,
Calif. |

Mentoring
Joel Ramin graduated
from the Commerce School in 2000, with a concentration in finance.
Upon graduating, he worked for the Blackstone Group in the private
equity division and now works for Bridger Capital, a New York-based
hedge fund.

Jason Rascoe

Jason Rascoe graduated from the Commerce School in 2003, with a
concentration in finance and a minor in economics. He spent his
first three years after graduation working in Leveraged Finance at
Banc of America Securities in Charlotte, N.C., and New York. Jason
now works for Beacon Capital Partners, a Boston-based real estate
investment firm. While at Virginia, Jason served as president of
Zeta Beta Tau and was an active member of Alpha Kappa
Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the McIntire
Investment Institute. |

Chaitenya Razdan

Chat Razdan graduated from McIntire in 2005, with
concentrations in finance and management. He also majored in
Spanish in the College of Arts & Sciences. He now lives in
New York and is working for A.T. Kearney as a business analyst.
Along with MYAC, he is a Class of 2005 Trustee. While at the
University, he was active with Resident Staff, Honor Educators,
Class Councils, ASU, and First Year Seminar and was a Madison House
Booster. He is an avid sports fan and participant, rooting for
all Baltimore teams (and the 'Hoos, of course) and
continuing to play tennis in his spare time.

Steve Reis graduated from McIntire in 2003, with concentrations in
accounting and management and a government minor. After spending two
years in Atlanta with McKinsey & Company, he has returned to
Charlottesville as a law student. While at U.Va., Steve was active
in Phi Delta Theta, Resident Staff, and the Honor Committee. |

Amanda
Richardson
Strategy
Amanda Richardson graduated from McIntire in May 2001, with
concentrations in finance and international business. While at U.Va.,
she was active with Madison House and the Commerce Council. Upon
graduation, she worked as an analyst for Blue Ridge Capital, a New
York-based hedge fund. She then left Blue Ridge and moved to
California, where she received her M.B.A. from Stanford University
in June, 2006. Currently, she is the Director of Corporate
Development at Eclipsys, a healthcare information technology
company, and lives in Redwood City, Calif. |

 Katie Rohyans

Katie Rohyans graduated from McIntire in 2005, with concentrations
in finance and marketing, while also completing a major in media
studies in the College. After graduation, she spent a year in New
York working as an investment banking analyst in the Financial
Institutions Group at Merrill Lynch. She currently lives in
Charlottesville and works as an analyst at Bluestem Asset
Management, a fund of hedge funds. During her time at U.Va., Katie
was involved with the Raven Society and Honor, taught pilates for
the physical education department, and was vice president of Beta
Gamma Sigma.

Root graduated from McIntire in 1999, with a concentration in finance. He currently lives in Palo Alto,
Calif., and is pursuing
an M.B.A. at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Before
attending graduate school, Austin worked for Soros
Private Equity Partners, focusing on investments in middle market
buyouts and emerging growth companies. Before Soros, Austin worked for
The Blackstone Group in the
investment banking firm's Restructuring and Reorganization
division.

Jennifer Rosen

Jenny Rosen (nee Jenny Harmon) graduated from the Commerce School in
2002, with a concentration in finance. She currently lives in
Northern Virginia and is a business account executive with Sprint. In
addition to MYAC, she also serves as a Trustee for the Class of
2002. While at U.Va., Jenny was co-captain of the women's varsity
volleyball team, an adviser with the Honor Committee, a trustee for
the Class of 2002, and served with other social/volunteer
organizations. |

Andrew
Schoonover
Mentoring
Andy Schoonover is a 2001 McIntire graduate with a concentration
in finance. Andy currently lives in Chicago, where he is managing
partner at Blue Canyon Capital. Prior to Blue Canyon, Andy spent two
years on the West Coast getting his M.B.A. at Stanford University.
Before attending business school, he worked as a senior associate in
the Acquisitions and Development group at Host Marriott Corporation.
During his years at U.Va., Andy served as a resident assistant and
president of the McIntire Investment Institute. |

Julia Thies
Strategy
Julia Thies graduated from McIntire in 2004, with concentrations
in finance and international business. She also was in the bioethics
program in the College of Arts & Sciences. She is currently in
the Healthcare Equity Research group at Thomas Weisel Partners in
New York. Along with MYAC, she also serves on the University's
Young Alumni Council and is a 2004 Trustee. While at U.Va., Julia
was involved with Class Councils, Student Council, McIntire Women's
Business Forum, and the Bioethics Society and was a member of Kappa
Kappa Gamma.

Meredith
Tierney graduated from the

in 2005. Meredith now lives in
Charlotte,
N.C.,
and works in Wachovia Securities Corporate and Investment Banking
Division. While at U.Va., Meredith was the vice president of Zeta
Tau Alpha sorority and an active member of the Virginia Dance
Company, the Virginia Dance Team, Madison House, and various other
organizations within McIntire and on Grounds.

Robbert Vorhoff graduated from the Commerce School in 2001, with a
concentration in finance. At U.Va., Robbert was an active member of
Delta Kappa Epsilon and Madison House. He now resides in New York
and works for General Atlantic, a global private equity firm.
Robbert is involved with a number of non-profit organizations in the
New York community, including Student Sponsor Partners and Echoing
Green. |

Weirich
Social
Terra Weirich graduated from McIntire in 2000, with
concentrations in finance, marketing, and management. Terra lives in
Washington, D.C., and works for the CIM Group, a private equity real
estate investment firm. Previously, Terra worked at Cafritz Company,
a real estate services firm, and Navigant Consulting, a financial
and litigation consulting firm. While at U.Va., Terra was actively
involved in the Honor Committee. Today she enjoys restoring her row
house in D.C., networking with real estate professionals, making
glass beads, and wine tasting in her free time. |

Lytle Wurtzel
Communcations
Lytle Wurtzel graduated from McIntire in 2004, with concentrations
in finance and management. After graduation, Lytle joined Banc of
America Securities in New York as an analyst in the High Yield
group. She transitioned in May 2005 to an internal hedge fund at
Bank of America. While at U.Va., Lytle was a member of the Raven Society, Chi
Omega sorority, and The Cavalier Daily. She is originally from
Orlando, Fla.
