Christopher D. Ray
Class of '92, Law '95
Christopher Ray is a 1992 graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce and a 1995 graduate of UVA’s School of Law. He is currently Managing Director and General Counsel of Natural Gas Partners, which manages a family of private equity funds investing capital in oil and gas production, midstream, oilfield service, and power companies. Mr. Ray joined Natural Gas Partners in February 2003.
Previously, Mr. Ray was a Partner in the law firm of Thompson & Knight. There, he focused his legal transactional practice in the areas of corporate and securities law, including mergers and acquisitions and public and private investments and offerings, since graduating from the Law School.
Mr. Ray lives in Dallas with his wife, Kathleen, and their son.
