JR Anderson
Class of '94
JR Anderson, a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia, holds a B.S. in Commerce (Finance), with a minor in Japanese Language. Upon graduation, Mr. Anderson worked as an Investment Banking Analyst for Bear Stearns and Company Inc. in New York City. He was in the mergers and acquisitions group, specializing in insurance and banking acquisitions. In 1996, Mr. Anderson made the decision to return to his hometown roots in Cincinnati to accept the role of Director of Development for Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate Inc.
Under his guidance and development expertise, Mr. Anderson was responsible for the development of neighborhood centers such as Kenwood Pavilion, Skytop Pavilion, and Union Centre Pavilion. More importantly, Mr. Anderson soon became directly responsible for the lifestyle center developments for which Jeffery R. Anderson Real Estate Inc. is nationally renowned. These centers include Rookwood Commons, Eastwood Towne Center, Geneva Commons, Algonquin Commons, Deerfield Towne Center, and Crestview Hills Town Center.
Mr. Anderson’s roles and responsibilities include all aspects of development, including site selection and acquisition, design and construction, anchor tenant leasing and negotiations, tenant coordination, contract negotiations and supervision, and cost projections and budgeting.
Mr. Anderson was also responsible for the design, development, and leasing of the 167,000-square-foot Rookwood Tower Class ‘A’ office building.
He continues to lead the development arm of Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate Inc., bringing to the company his innovative approach to development and knowledge of what makes a center thrive and grow within a given marketplace.
Mr. Anderson is on the final selection committee for the Jefferson Scholars Program for the University of Virginia, where one scholar is selected annually from the Greater Cincinnati area and awarded a scholarship to the University of Virginia.
Mr. Anderson lives in Cincinnati and is married, with two sons.
