McIntire Young Alumni Council: Committees
MYAC has five committees, each with a distinct focus, yet collectively working toward the common goal of serving and representing McIntire’s recent graduates.
Communications
The Communications Committee works closely with the other committees to share news, promote events, and market engagement opportunities to McIntire young alumni. The Communications Committee helps to maintain and update content for the MYAC homepage, the McIntire Facebook Fan Page, The McIntire Young Alumni Facebook Group, and MYAC City Sheets. Committee members assist the McIntire Alumni Development Team with composing messages to young alumni and advise on strategies for optimal communication with young alumni.
Mentoring
The Mentoring Committee works with Commerce Career Services and McIntire Student Services to identify and facilitate opportunities for interaction between current students and young alumni. The committee is available to assist the Commerce School in recruiting young alumni volunteers to participate in on-Grounds events such as Commerce Career Day, career workshops, panel discussions, and other networking opportunities. The committee works to promote MYAC as a resource for current students and young alumni seeking advice on relocation and career development. Mentoring also works to connect young alumni and established professionals within the larger McIntire alumni community through networking events such as City Circles Dinners.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee supports McIntire's young alumni fundraising efforts and encourages classmates to participate in the McIntire Annual Fund. Committee members seek new and creative ideas to help boost class participation levels. Fundraising advises McIntire on the timing and delivery of Annual Fund solicitations to young alumni and suggests language for use in young alumni appeals. The committee works closely with McIntire's Alumni Development team and offers support to the McIntire Alumni Trustee program when necessary.
Social
The Social Committee works with all MYAC members and other young alumni volunteers to plan and facilitate regional events for McIntire young alumni. Committee members help to promote attendance at all McIntire alumni events and work with the Communications Committee to market events to recent graduates. The Social committee also assists with organizing virtual engagement opportunities and lifelong learning programs for young alums.
Strategy
The Strategy Committee works closely with the other committees to set and reach attainable goals for membership, fundraising, communication, and alumni engagement. Strategy collaborates with MYAC leadership and the University's Young Alumni Council (YAC) to evaluate the needs of McIntire's young alumni and ensure that those needs are being met. Committee members help promote YAC initiatives to McIntire young alumni and share strategies for how the Commerce School can best serve young alumni.
