McIntire Young Alumni Council Members

MYAC represents alumni from the last nine graduating classes. Through the various committees, members seek to engage current students, faculty, and young alumni.

Hunter Armistead
Hunter Armistead graduated from the Commerce School in 2010 with a concentration in finance and a second major in economics. While at UVA, he served as a manager of the McIntire Investment Institute and was an active member of Habitat for Humanity, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the Raven Society. Hunter currently works in New York City for Morgan Stanley as an Analyst in the Global Power and Utilities Group.

Devin Battiston
Devin Battiston graduated from McIntire in 2006 with a concentration in finance. He now lives in Charlotte, N.C., and works for Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Associate in Global Syndicated Finance-Real Estate. He previously worked in the CMBS Capital Markets group. While at UVA, he was a member of the governing board of the Inter-Fraternity Council.

Garrett Bockenek
Garrett Bockenek graduated from the Commerce School in 2005 with a concentration in finance and a second major in economics. While at UVA, Garrett was a member of the men's rowing team and a fund manager for the McIntire Investment Institute. In addition to his involvement with MYAC, he is a Class of 2005 Trustee and active with the Virginia Rowing Association. He now resides in Boston and works for Thomas H. Lee Partners, a global private investment firm.

David Chattleton (Emeritus)
David Chattleton graduated from the Commerce School in 2000 with concentrations in finance and management. After graduation, Dave worked at McKinsey & Company in Washington, D.C. He currently works as an Executive Director for Morgan Stanley's Real Estate Investment Banking group. While at UVA, Dave was involved in the University Guide Service, the Raven Society, and UVA Lead. He and his wife, Christy, live in New York City.

Will Cozean
Will Cozean graduated from the Commerce School in 2011 with concentrations in finance and management. While at UVA, he served as president of Commerce Council and the Sigma Alpha Mu (Sammy) fraternity. In addition, he was active in YMAC basketball coaching, Walker Elementary tutoring, and the Big Siblings program. Will currently works in Atlanta as a Business Analyst for McKinsey & Company.

Spencer Cummings
Spencer Cummings graduated from McIntire in 2006 with concentrations in finance and management. After graduation, Spencer joined Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy, and worked primarily in Middle Eastern telecommunication and energy industries. Currently he works for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C., as a part of the Energy Market Oversight team.

Meera Deepak
Meera Deepak graduated from McIntire in 2008 with concentrations in marketing and international business and a minor in anthropology. Meera was active in student life at the University, serving as McIntire's Commerce Council president during her fourth year. Since graduating Meera has worked in marketing in social media and independent film. In 2010 she lived in India working for the social enterprise the Hub. Meera currently lives in New York City and works at the digital agency Tribal DDB.

Connor Fusselman
Connor Fusselman graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2011 with a concentration in finance. During his tenure at UVA, Connor served as the president of the Sustainable Investment Group and the treasurer of Commerce Council. He was also heavily involved in the class council system, serving as a member from the First-Year Council through the Fourth-Year Trustees. Connor currently lives in New York City and works as an Advisory Analyst in Evercore Partners' Mergers and Acquisitions division.

Brian Gavron
Brian Gavron graduated from McIntire in 2008 with concentrations in finance and management. While at UVA, he was actively involved in the Raven Society, the University Programs Council, and Alternative Spring Break. He continues to serve McIntire as a Class Trustee. After leaving McIntire, Brian worked as a Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C., for two years. He then left government consulting to pursue a year with a nonprofit technology incubator in Accra, Ghana. He is now happily back in Charlottesville at Darden.

Brett Gibson (Emeritus)
Brett Gibson recently completed his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and is now in business development for group buying site LivingSocial, in Washington, D.C. After graduating from McIntire in 2002, Brett joined the U.S. Army, serving as an Army Ranger in both Afghanistan and Iraq. While at UVA, Brett was involved with Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries, Greek Recycling, and the Grounds for Discussion student orientation program.

Michael Glynn (Emeritus)
Mike Glynn graduated from the Commerce School in 2001 with concentrations in finance and accounting. Since graduating from UVA, Mike has lived in New York City. Mike worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. for five years in Investment Banking and Fixed Income, and currently works at UBS Investment Bank as a Director in Real Estate Finance. While at UVA, Mike was an active member of Commerce Council, Madison House, Phi Sigma Pi, and various other organizations within McIntire and on Grounds. Mike, along with Amanda Richardson, is a founding member of MYAC.

Christopher Golden
Christopher Golden graduated from the Commerce School in 2006 with concentrations in finance and accounting. After graduation, he worked in the Special Situation Group at Goldman Sachs. He now works for Blue Ridge Capital, a New York-based hedge fund.

Gordon Green
Gordon Green graduated from McIntire in 2008 with a concentration in finance. During his time at UVA, Gordon volunteered with the Big Sibling program through Madison House and served as president of the McIntire Investment Institute. He worked for two years in New York as an Investment Banking Analyst for UBS in the Financial Institutions Group and now lives in Beijing, where he studies mandarin Chinese.

J. David Hobbs
David Hobbs graduated from McIntire in 2006 with a concentration in finance. While at UVA, David served as chairman of the Honor Committee and was an active member of St. Anthony Hall as well as the IMP and Raven societies. After graduation, David worked for The Blackstone Group. He currently works for Tiger Eye Capital, a New York-based hedge fund.

Jay Hodgkins
Jay Hodgkins is Managing Editor of the Communications department at NRG Energy, a Fortune 500 power company, in Princeton, N.J. Before accepting that position in December 2010, Jay worked in journalism in various positions as a reporter and editor in Ocean City, Md., and for SNL Financial in Charlottesville, Va. After graduating from McIntire in 2003 with concentrations in marketing and management, Jay attended Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

Luke Holman
Luke Holman graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2006 with concentrations in marketing and management. While at UVA, he was a resident adviser and a member of Professor Jack Lindgren's "Promotions" team that won the 2006 American Advertising Federation's National Student Advertising Competition. Luke is now working in construction management for Clark Construction. He lives in McLean, Va.

Lisa Jeffreys
Lisa Jeffreys graduated from the Commerce School in 2002 with concentrations in finance and international business. She now resides in New York City and is a Senior Vice President in Jefferies & Co.'s Equity Research Sales group. Before joining Jefferies in early 2005, Lisa spent three years as an Investment Banking Analyst, working primarily in Banc of America Securities' Consumer & Retail group. At UVA, Lisa was an active member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, where she served as recruitment chair and philanthropy chair.

S. Shaw Joseph
Shaw Joseph graduated from the Commerce School in 2004 with concentrations in finance and accounting. While at UVA, Shaw served as the chairman for Membership Intake for the Inter-Fraternity Council and was an active member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He now resides in San Francisco and works for Hellman & Friedman, a global private equity investment firm. Prior to his current position, Shaw was an Analyst at the New York-based investment banking boutique Greenhill & Co., where he participated in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and private equity transactions.

Joanna Marten
Joanna Marten graduated from McIntire in 2005 with concentrations in marketing and management.  She holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business and currently works for United Airlines in Chicago. Before joining United, Joanna worked at Navigant Consulting as part of the Litigation and Investigations practice. While at UVA, she served as president and business manager of the McIntire Consulting Group and was also active in the ISCJC and her sorority.

Jason McDougall
Jason McDougall graduated from the Commerce School in 2003 with a concentration in Finance and a major in Economics. After graduation he worked as an Analyst with Princes Gate, a private equity fund managed by Morgan Stanley, followed by Atticus Capital and then Perennial Investors, both long/short equity hedge funds. Jason currently resides in New York, where he works for Valinor, a hedge fund. While at UVA, Jason served as the president of the McIntire Investment Institute and treasurer of Alpha Kappa Psi.

Logan Moncrief
Logan Moncrief graduated from McIntire in 2004 with a concentration in finance. While at UVA, Logan was active in Madison House and the Raven Society, and served as a vice chair of the Honor Committee. Upon graduation, Logan worked for JPMorgan Partners in New York City. He currently lives in Houston and works for Moncrief Willingham Energy Advisors.

Julia (Thies) Moore
Julia Moore graduated from McIntire in 2004 with concentrations in finance and international business. She was also in the bioethics program in the College of Arts & Sciences. Julia is currently the Director, Business Development and Strategy at TriVascular, Inc., a medical device company developing and commercializing endovascular devices. Julia was previously an Associate at Kearny Venture Partners in San Francisco and an Associate covering health care in the Equity Research group at Thomas Weisel Partners in New York. In addition to her involvement with MYAC, she has also served on other alumni boards, including the University's Young Alumni Council, the Annual Giving Advisory Board and Class Trustees. Julia also chaired her Reunion Class Gift. While at UVA, Julia was involved with Class Councils, Student Council, McIntire Women's Business Forum, and the Bioethics Society, and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Kayu Muigai
Kayu Muigai graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2011 with
concentrations in finance and management. While at UVA, Kayu served as chairman for community service on the Inter-Fraternity Council and was an active member of Delta Sigma Phi, Black Student Network at McIntire, and Class of 2011 Trustees. Kayu currently works in Washington, D.C., for Fannie Mae as a Financial Analyst.

Hang (Michelle) Nguyen
Hang (Michelle) Nguyen graduated from McIntire in 2007. While at the University, she served on the McIntire Commerce Council and was also a member of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority Inc., the Class of 2007 Trustees, the Chinese Student Association, and the Raven Society. Upon graduation, she worked at Merrill Lynch as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. She currently works at Coatue Management, a hedge fund in New York City.

Andy Paradis
Andy Paradis graduated with distinction from the Commerce School in 2007 with a concentration in finance and a second major in economics. While at the University, Andy served as president of the Inter-Fraternity Council and was active in St. Anthony Hall and the IMP and Raven societies. Andy now lives in New York City and works for King Street Capital Management.

Courtney Patterson
Courtney Patterson graduated from McIntire in 2007 with concentrations in finance and marketing. She now lives in New York City and works at investment banking firm The Raine Group. While at UVA, Courtney was involved with the Mid-Autumns Carnival, Commerce Council, Kappa Delta, and various other organizations within McIntire and on Grounds.

Erika (Pearson) Giampietro
Erika Pearson Giampietro graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2006 with concentrations in finance and management. While at UVA, Erika was involved in the University Guide Service, SAFE, and the Vagina Monologues. She was also an active member of the IMP and Raven societies. After graduation, she worked as a Consultant at the Monitor Group and is now Managing Director of Strategy for Teach For America's Teacher Support and Development team. Erika lives in Boston with her husband and fellow McIntire graduate, Philip. Together, they founded ABLE (Access Better Learning and Education), a 501(c)3 in Boston helping at-risk high school students graduate on time through the help of young professional mentors and tuition support for high-quality schools.

David Plon
David Plon graduated from the Commerce School with a concentration in finance and a second major in economics. While at school, David was a portfolio manager for the Alternative Investment Fund, held various leadership positions in his fraternity Sigma Alpha Mu, was a site leader for Alternative Spring Break, and competed on the mock trial team. David currently works at Barclays Capital in New York as an Analyst in the Special Situations Group.

Christina Polenta
Christina Polenta graduated from the Commerce School in 2009 with concentrations in finance and marketing. She also majored in foreign affairs at the College of Arts & Sciences. While at UVA, she was class president and served as one of the McIntire representatives to the Honor Committee. She was also active in Madison House, ODK, the Raven Society, Delta Gamma, and Project SERVE. After graduation, Christina lived in New York City and worked for J.P. Morgan as an Analyst in the M&A group. She currently works for JHL Capital Group, a Chicago-based hedge fund.

Joel Ramin (Emeritus)
Joel Ramin graduated from the Commerce School in 2000 with a concentration in finance. After graduation he worked in the private equity division of The Blackstone Group. He now works for Bridger Capital, a New York-based hedge fund.

Jason Rascoe
Jason Rascoe graduated from the Commerce School in 2003 with a concentration in finance and a minor in economics. He spent his first three years after graduation working in Leveraged Finance at Banc of America Securities in Charlotte, N.C., and New York. Jason now resides in Alexandria, Va., and is a Vice President of Asset Management focusing on the Washington, D.C., market for Beacon Capital Partners, a Boston-based real estate investment firm. While at UVA, Jason served as president of Zeta Beta Tau and was an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the McIntire Investment Institute.

Chaitenya Razdan
Chat Razdan graduated from McIntire in 2005 with concentrations in finance and management. He also majored in Spanish in the College of Arts & Sciences. Chat spent four years in New York as a Strategy Consultant for A.T. Kearney, and graduated from the M.B.A. program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In addition to his involvement with MYAC, he was also a Class of 2005 Trustee, serving as the co-chair of his five-year reunion, and currently is serving as the VP of YAC. While at the University, he was active with the Resident Staff, Honor Educators, Class Councils, ASU, First Year Seminar, PAFN, McIntire Consulting Group, club tennis, and intramural sports, and was a Madison House booster. He is an avid sports fan and participant, rooting for all Baltimore teams (and the 'Hoos, of course) and continuing to play tennis in his spare time. Chat now lives in New York and is an Associate in the TMT group at Goldman Sachs.

Amanda Richardson (Emeritus)
Amanda Richardson graduated from McIntire in May 2001 with concentrations in finance and international business. While at UVA, she was active with Madison House and the Commerce Council. Upon graduation, she worked as an Analyst for Blue Ridge Capital, a New York-based hedge fund. She received her M.B.A. from Stanford University in June 2006. After graduation from Stanford, she worked as the Director of Corporate Development at Eclipsys, an Atlanta-based health care information technology company. Today, she is the Senior Vice President of Product Development at SnagAJob.com, a Richmond, Va.-based career site focused on hourly jobs.

Alex Robertson
Alex Robertson graduated from McIntire in 2009 with concentrations in accounting and marketing. After graduation, Alex spent a year traveling in Europe, Australasia, and the Southeast Pacific. While at UVA, Alex played for the UVA men's rugby team, was the treasurer of McIntire's Commerce Council, and participated in the Big Sibling program at Madison House. Alex currently lives in New York, working for Sullivan, a communications strategy and design agency.

James Rogers
James Rogers graduated from the Commerce School in 2011 with a concentration in finance and a second major in history. While at UVA, James was president of the McIntire Investment Institute, co-taught a course on the financial crisis, served as a Madison House program director, and was active in the Raven Society. James currently works for The Blackstone Group as a Technology M&A Analyst.

Katie (Rohyans) Overdevest
Katie (Rohyans) Overdevest graduated from McIntire in 2005 with concentrations in finance and marketing, as well as a major in media studies from the College of Arts & Sciences. She currently is a Director at Bluestem Asset Management, a fund of hedge funds based in Charlottesville. Prior to Bluestem, Katie worked as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Merrill Lynch in New York. While she was a student at UVA, Katie was involved with the Raven Society and Honor Council, taught Pilates for the physical education department, and was vice president of Beta Gamma Sigma. Katie is a CFA charterholder.

Jennifer Rosen (Emeritus)
Jenny Rosen (nee Jenny Harmon) graduated from the Commerce School in 2002 with a concentration in finance. She currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter. She works as a Federal Regional Account Manager with Sprint, focusing on sales to the U.S. Army and other Department of Defense agencies. In addition to her involvement with MYAC, she also serves as a Trustee for the Class of 2002. While at UVA, Jenny was co-captain of the women's varsity volleyball team, an adviser with the Honor Committee, and a Trustee for the Class of 2002, among numerous other social and volunteer activities.

Scott Rosen
Scott Rosen graduated from the Commerce School in 2010 with a concentration in finance. He also earned a second major in economics from the College of Arts & Sciences. While at UVA, he served as president of the McIntire Commerce Council, and was an active leader in Alpha Epsilon Pi and the Hillel Jewish Leadership Council. Scott resides in New York City and works at investment bank Evercore Partners as an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group.

Andrew Schoonover (Emeritus)
Andy Schoonover graduated from McIntire in 2001 with a concentration in finance. Andy currently lives in Cincinnati, where he is President of Valued Relationships Inc. (VRI), a leading provider of in-home health care monitoring solutions. Before joining VRI, Andy was Managing Partner at Blue Canyon Capital. He has also worked as a Senior Associate in the Acquisitions and Development group at Host Marriott Corporation. During his years at UVA, Andy served as a resident assistant and president of the McIntire Investment Institute. In addition to his B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School, Andy has an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Bradford Seagraves
Bradford Seagraves graduated from the Commerce School in 2009 with a concentration in finance and a second major in economics. At UVA, Bradford served on the McIntire Commerce Council, and was active in the Phi Society and RUF. He spent a semester in Ireland though a Commerce School exchange program. Bradford currently resides in London, where he works for Merrill Lynch in Global Economics & Investment Strategy Research.

Kelly Sheehy
Kelly Sheehy graduated from McIntire in 2003 with concentrations in finance and information technology. He now lives in Washington, D.C., and works for JER Partners, a private equity real estate firm. Before joining JER Partners, Kelly spent two years working for Accenture's strategy and development practice. While at the University, Kelly was an elected judge on the University Judiciary Committee and was actively involved in Madison House volunteer projects.

Jessie Taylor
Jessie Taylor graduated from the Commerce School in 2010 with concentrations in marketing and finance. While at UVA, Jessie served as business manager and performed in the a cappella group "Hoos in Treble." She was also an active member of the Advertising and Marketing Association, Jack Lindgren's "Promotions" team, and Alpha Chi Omega. Jessie currently resides in New York and works at Grey Advertising as an Account Executive.

Christine Thrash
Christine Thrash graduated from McIntire in 2009 with concentrations in finance and accounting. While at UVA, she was involved with Relay for Life, McIntire Mentors, Trustees, and a variety of other organizations around Grounds. Upon graduation Christine joined Genworth, and recently completed their two-year Financial Development Program. While on program, Christine received her CPA license in Virginia. Christine currently works in Richmond, Va., as a Finance Analyst with Genworth’s Derivatives Accounting group.

Meredith Tierney
Meredith Tierney graduated from McIntire in 2005 and earned her M.B.A. from
Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2011. She is currently working in international development with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Kigali, Rwanda, and in the fall she will begin a career in strategy consulting with Waterstone Management Group in Chicago. Prior to attending business school, she was an Investment Banking Associate at Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, N.C. While at UVA, Meredith was the vice president of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and an active member of the Virginia Dance Company, the Virginia Dance Team, Madison House, and various other organizations within McIntire and on Grounds.

Samantha Tobias
Samantha Tobias graduated from the Commerce School in 2010 with concentrations in information technology and marketing as well as a second major in government. At UVA, Samantha served on the McIntire Commerce Council, Class Council, Women's Business Forum at McIntire, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, A Day in the Life Program, McIntire Tour Guides, and more. She studied abroad in Bath, Brussels, and Paris through a Commerce School exchange program. Samantha will be an IT Consultant for CGI next year in Northern Virginia.

Matt Towerman
Matt Towerman graduated from McIntire in 2008 with concentrations in finance and management. While at UVA, he was involved in Honor, Madison House, Phi Gamma Delta and the Raven Society. Upon graduation Matt was hired by Goldman Sachs to work in the Dallas office on the Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds.

Degelis Tufts
Degelis Tufts graduated from the Commerce School in 2008 with concentrations in finance and international business. While at UVA, she served as a manager of the McIntire Investment Institute and was an active member of Delta Gamma and the Class of 2008 Trustees. Degelis currently works at Sands Capital Management in Arlington, Va., as a Research Associate on the Consumer team. She formerly worked at J.P. Morgan in New York City as an Analyst in the Healthcare Investment Banking group.

Robbert Vorhoff (Emeritus)
Robbert Vorhoff graduated from the Commerce School in 2001 with a concentration in finance. At UVA, Robbert was an active member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and Madison House. He now resides in New York City and works for General Atlantic, a global private equity firm. Robbert is involved with a number of nonprofit organizations in the New York community, including Student Sponsor Partners and Echoing Green.

Lytle Wurtzel
Lytle Wurtzel graduated from McIntire in 2004 with concentrations in finance and
management. After graduation, Lytle joined Banc of America Securities in New York as an Analyst in the High Yield group. She transitioned in May 2005 to an internal hedge fund at Bank of America. From 2007 to 2010, Lytle worked for CNL Financial Group in her hometown of Orlando, Fla., in the Private Equity group. She earned her M.B.A. from the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship. In December 2010, Lytle accepted an Associate position with Arsenal Venture Partners in Winter Park, Fla. Arsenal is an early-stage venture capital fund focused on technologies at the intersection of the commercial and defense markets. While at UVA, Lytle was a member of the Raven Society and Chi Omega sorority, and wrote for The Cavalier Daily. Today, Lytle is active in the Central Florida chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the UVA Club of Greater Orlando.

Toby Zhang
Toby Zhang graduated from the Commerce School in 2007 with concentrations in finance and management. Upon graduation, Toby worked as an Associate Research Consultant at dunnhumbyUSA. In 2009, Toby received a master's degree in marketing research from the University of Georgia. He currently works for Millward Brown, a WPP company. While at UVA, Toby was a representative of the Honor Committee, a University Guide, and the president of the international mentoring program. He presently lives in Atlanta.
