Fall 2012 Fourth-Year Semester Program Abroad

Fourth-year McIntire students who meet all credit requirements* may study abroad during their fall semester thanks to partnerships between McIntire and multiple schools abroad, in Argentina, Denmark, Italy, New Zealand, and Singapore.  

*Note: The McIntire School encourages study-abroad experiences and provides all students multiple options to meet degree requirements. Students must complete 60 credits "in-residence" while at UVA. Faculty-led short courses are considered "in-residence"; however, fourth-year abroad is considered "transfer of credit" and not "in-residence."

Courses taken while abroad are intended to keep students academically on schedule. All partner institutions have high academic standards and a selection of courses that meet the needs of McIntire students.

Note: Students who have an interest in spending their fourth-year spring semester abroad should make an appointment with Angie Turner in Student Services (Rouss & Robertson Halls, Room 311).

Application Process

Before applying, students must complete the online Education Abroad Workshop information session on the University's International Studies (ISO) Web site. Online applications are available on the ISO Web site after reviewing the information session. Commerce study-abroad information sessions are scheduled for Jan. 31, 2012, and Feb. 1, 2012, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Robertson Hall, Room 221.

Applications are due by midnight February 20, 2012. Once admission is approved, students will be required to complete a program-specific application packet and attend several orientation sessions during the months of March and April.
