McIntire Internal Digital Certificate
OCS works internally (Rouss & Robertson Halls wired ports, Cavalier wireless network in Rouss & Robertson Halls, McIntire VPN) by communicating directly with the OCS front-end server. This server is signed by a McIntire-issued certificate, which by default is trusted by all McIntire domain PCs.
To get OCS to work internally for a machine that is not on the domain (e.g., while you are on Grounds for class), you need to download the internal digital certificate.
1. Download the cert file (mcintireroot.p7b).
2. Right-click the downloaded file and select install certificate.
3. Instead of accepting the defaults, select Place all certificates in the following store and browse to Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
OCS works externally by communicating with an edge server (no VPN required). No additional configuration is required to use OCS externally.
