Classrooms in the McIntire School of Commerce

Sixteen U-shaped case method classrooms are maintained in Rouss & Robertson Halls. The classroom capacities range from seating for 36 to 169 students.

Technology in the Classroom

Teaching can take place from a lectern or a central table; both are equipped with laptop and auxiliary connections to utilize the room’s audiovisual capabilities. All classrooms have at least two widescreen projectors and a large flat-panel TV at the rear of the room that serves as a “confidence monitor.” Standard data sources include a document camera, DVD/VCR, PC, chalkboards, and cable TV. All teaching spaces have wired network connections. Several rooms are also equipped with videoconferencing and lecture capture technology.

Student desks are equipped with power strips, and all occupants can access the University's wireless network.

Classroom Use Policies

Typically, classrooms are reserved by faculty for instruction. However, staff may occasionally use the rooms for large-scale presentations; student organizations are permitted to make use of the classrooms as well. Reservations are required and can be made through Student Services.

Classrooms are available for use from 8 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday.
