Technology Introduction: Graduate Students
McIntire School graduate students have access to a wide range of technologies that can assist them in their educational careers.The following is a list of the technologies available, with links to the various areas of this site that can help you better understand and more efficiently implement these technologies.
Graduate students have access to all of the same resources that undergraduate students have access to; however, graduate students receive a McIntire e-mail account on McIntire's Microsoft exchange server.
Technology Available to Graduate Students
What to Do
- Visit the Accounts & Passwords site for an introduction to your McIntire user account.
- Visit the Systems & Software section to learn about McIntire's many technological offerings.
- Visit the Network section to learn how to set up your own computer for use with McIntire's wireless network or how to connect to McIntire technology resources from outside of Rouss & Robertson Halls through the McIntire virtual private network.
- Peruse the How To section to learn how to set up other devices you may have, such as an iPhone, for use with software like McIntire e-mail.
- Finally, you may access your McIntire e-mail from McIntire's webmail service, Outlook, or another program (e.g., Entourage for Macs). The How To section includes instructions that can help you set up your e-mail for use with one of these programs. If you have a program that is not listed in the How To section, contact the McIntire Help Desk, and staff members will be glad to assist you in setting up your e-mail.
