Setting Up Outlook 2003 to Connect to Your McIntire E-mail
Connecting to the VPN
To use Outlook 2003 to connect to Exchange via MAPI, you must be physically connected to the network in the McIntire School or using the McIntire VPN.

Setting up Your Outlook 2003 Profile
The first time you launch Outlook 2003 after installation, you will see a welcome screen.
If you have already configured accounts in Outlook 2003, you may add additional accounts by navigating to Tools and then Email Accounts, where you can choose to add a new e-mail account.
On the Server Type screen, choose Microsoft Exchange Server.
On the next screen, enter mcintire8.comm.virginia.edu as the Microsoft Exchange Server. Your User Name is your McIntire User ID (e.g. ABC8D). Enter it in the text box as shown below and click Next.
If prompted for credentials, enter your domain (which is MCINTIRE), followed by a backslash and then your McIntire User ID so that it appears as follows: MCINTIRE\YourUserID. You may then enter your McIntire logon password.
Congratulations! You are now set to use Outlook 2003 with your McIntire e-mail account! Remember, you must first connect to the McIntire VPN before using Outlook 2003 to check your mail.
