*The University of Virginia's budget for living expenses is set by the Board of Visitors. Rent and utility figures are calculated for a single student sharing a two-bedroom apartment. This budget does not include allowances for car payments, undergraduate debt, or consumer and other types of personal debt. The typical living costs budget is expected to increase by approximately 3% for 2013-2014.
**In addition to the Global Immersion Fee, students are expected to cover the cost of roundtrip airfare to and from the chosen destination, as well as the cost of obtaining any required travel visas.
