Module I: IT Architecture
GComm 779 & 780 (9 credit hours)
Module Leader:

Module I is taught during a two-week period of full residency on the
Grounds of the University of Virginia. This brief but intense
technology boot camp will expose you to the McIntire way of looking at
information technology, which is based on the philosophy of designing
IT systems that meet the needs of the business enterprise and add
economic value.
The module has three objectives: (1) to provide
you with a long-lasting knowledge of the foundations of modern
information systems: data, objects, business processes, and
telecommunications; (2) to strengthen your insights on contemporary IT trends
and emerging technologies; and (3) to empower you with a big-picture
understanding of how these pieces fit together in an enterprise IT
architecture.
