 Fourth-Year Concentrations

Fourth-Year Concentrations

Equipped with a comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals of business theory and practice, fourth-year students choose to concentrate in one or more specialized area of study, according to their interests and career plans. Combining the best of the theoretical and practical, fourth-year coursework employs a rich variety of learning methods, including case work, group work, and simulations of real-world challenges. In addition, McIntire professors often invite outstanding business practitioners into the classroom. Whether on Grounds or through one of our many study-abroad programs, McIntire offers its students the knowledge, skills, and experience critical to success in today’s rapidly changing world.

Descriptions of the areas of concentration are available, along with required coursework, in the University of Virginia’s course catalog. Six to nine hours of Commerce electives are also offered on a rotating basis. Our broad-ranging offerings include comprehensive coursework in critical areas such as sustainability, globalization, and leadership.
