CS 120 Requirement
CS 120: Introduction to Computer Science is dropped as a prerequisite
to
the McIntire School of Commerce School effective immediately. The course
continues to be recommended particularly for students planning to
concentrate in information technology.
We apologize for the past difficulty students have had in securing
spaces in
CS 120 and for the short notice of this curriculum change. Given the
high
demand for the CS 120 course and limited funds available to support the
course, this mid-year change became necessary. For those of you who
have
completed CS 120, it is still a recommended course and you will find the
skills developed useful. For those of you who have not been able to
complete the course, it is no longer required and will not be included
in
the McIntire Admission Committee's prerequisite "mini" GPA evaluation.
A computer programming course is regarded as one of many good electives
for
students to complete before enrollment in the McIntire School.
If you have any questions regarding this change, please
contact the McIntire Student Services Office.
