Exploring Study-Abroad Options
Students may wish to explore study-abroad
opportunities other than those pre-approved for completion of the
third-year Integrated Core Experience (ICE) program. Fall semester of the
fourth year is another recommended time to study abroad.
McIntire students have long researched and found their own programs
abroad. Key to designing an independent program is making sure credits
earned abroad satisfy McIntire and other University requirements.
Students who wish to design their own study-abroad program should contact
the International Studies Office for assistance in choosing the
appropriate institution abroad.
Both the International Studies Office and McIntire's Student
Services
Office can help in approving transfer of credit and other study-abroad
plans. McIntire Professor and Director of the International Residential
College Brad Brown is another excellent resource for advice and
encouragement.
The Council on
International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a recommended source
of study-abroad programs and information.
For shorter travel and study-abroad experiences,
students may enroll in “Marketing Strategy in Global Markets” and/or "International
Finance and Tax Planning."
