Commerce Career Day 2005

Commerce Career Day (CCD) 2005 will take place Friday, Sept. 16. The event will target approximately 1,500 U.Va. students, providing them the opportunity to network with more than 100 organizations. In addition to the career fair segment of the event, panel discussions will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 15, allowing employers and students a chance to converse on multiple industry- and career-related topics.

As the first on-Grounds career fair open to all U.Va. students, CCD provides employers an advantageous networking opportunity with  students before the onset of fall recruiting. In addition, CCD provides employers the ability to brand their company and promote the positions for which they will be recruiting.

The employer registration fee for this year's event is $475 and covers the following: participation of up to four representatives from your organization, a table with two chairs, and lunch and beverages throughout the day. In addition, before the event, participating organizations will receive a database of all fourth-year B.S. in Commerce and M.S. Accounting - Tax Consulting McIntire students who are actively seeking employment.

Should you have questions regarding CCD 2005 please contact Mary Gentry, Director for Employer Relations.

Company Booths

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., organizations will set up booths in Monroe and Newcomb halls to recruit for internship and full-time opportunities with U.Va. students. To request an invitation, please email Peggy Ehrenberg, Assistant Director for Employer Relations.

Panel Discussions

Held in Monroe Hall the evening before CCD, these panel discussions cover multiple career topics such as advertising, consulting, corporate finance and accounting, information technology, investment banking, marketing, public accounting, and careers off the beaten path. To participate in the panel discussions for this year's event, please contact Tom Fitch, Director of Career Services.
