Mock Interviews (Employer-in-Residence
Program)
The Employer-in-Residence Program brings employers on Grounds throughout each semester to offer
McIntire students experience with the interviewing process through mock interviews. Just a few past employer participants include
Merrill
Lynch, The Wolf Group,
Genworth
Financial, KPMG,
Capital One,

Networks,
and MarketBridge.
Targeted Workshops & Panels
Students can build their career planning skills throughout the year by attending workshops and panels that
concentrate on specific products, skills, or strategies:

Resume writing

Interviewing skills

Job-search strategies, including strategies for summer job search

Job-offer evaluation and negotiation
Commerce Career Day 2008
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, company
booths will be set up in the John Paul Jones Arena to promote internship
and full-time opportunities with U.Va. students.
Panel Discussions
In
addition to the career fair,
panel discussions (2007 panel discussion schedule)
will be held Thursday evening,
Sept. 11, 2008,
in Rouss & Robertson Halls, allowing employers and students to converse on
multiple industry- and career-related topics that include the following:

Business Careers Internship Fair
The Business Careers
Internship Fair will be held November Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, 10 a.m. to
3 p.m. in Rouss & Robertson Halls. (Details and updates to follow)
For many students
last year, this was an opportunity to
explore internship opportunities before winter break and, for some,
before studying abroad next semester.
