Design a Recruiting Strategy

We recognize the importance of a well-designed recruiting strategy that will optimize your McIntire recruiting experience. Contact recruit@comm.virginia.edu to ask about designing a strategy that will enable you to effectively recruit our students while branding your company at the McIntire School.
Employer-in-Residence Program
The Employer-in-Residence program helps to prepare Commerce students for the recruiting process. Employers can participate in any of the following:
- Mock interviews - Meet individually with students and help them to refine their interviewing skills. An excellent way to get to know students on an individual basis, mock interviews can be scheduled throughout the day or for part of the day. Students must sign up for employer slots in advance.
- Resume reviews - Students value having their resumes critiqued by a professional; employers are able to speak with students on an individual basis and may be able to meet possible job or internship candidates. Students do not sign up beforehand and are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Coffee networking - Employers can speak with students for a few minutes between classes, critique resumes, or simply get to know students on an informal basis. During coffee networking events, employers can sponsor coffee (and food if they wish) to be brought to Rouss & Robertson Halls any time from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Commerce Career Services thanks the employers who work with us to provide the Employer-in-Residence program to our students. If your company is interested in participating in this program, please contact Jenny Leslie, Director for Corporate Information and Communications, by e-mail or by calling 434-924-3553 to obtain a registration form.
Corporate Partners Program
The Corporate Partners Program provides participants with a competitive recruiting advantage. Through various levels of involvement and participation in a variety of academic programs and events, organizations maintain close interaction with McIntire students and faculty.
Involvement in the program maximizes a company’s visibility among potential employees and the academic community while providing vital support for School activities and programs.
