Commerce Career Day

Commerce Career Day (CCD) 2011 was held Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the John Paul Jones Arena.

As the first on-Grounds career fair open to all UVA students, CCD provides employers and students an advantageous networking opportunity at the onset of fall recruiting. More than 900 students attended the 2011 event and were able to network with 95 organizations.

Employers interested in receiving an invitation for 2012 should e-mail Peggy Ehrenberg, Assistant Director for Employer Relations. E-mail invitations are scheduled for early June 2012.

Career Fair

CCD allows employers to establish or enhance their company presence on Grounds! Company booths will be set up in John Paul Jones Arena to promote internship and full-time positions with UVA students.

Searchable Database of Participating Organizations

Students will be able to search CCD participants and their employment opportunities by industry, position available (full-time versus internship), position location, and concentration/major of interest. Database will posted later this summer.

Panel Discussions

In addition to the career fair, panel discussions will be held in Rouss & Robertson Halls Thursday, September 13, the evening before CCD, allowing employers and students to converse on multiple industry- and career-related topics, such as the following:

Advertising, consulting
Corporate finance and accounting
Information technology
Investment banking
Marketing
Public accounting
Careers off the beaten path

Students, Network One-on-One with an Employer

Volunteering as a student host for CCD provides a unique networking opportunity. All McIntire students have the chance to sign up to serve as a host. Student assistance on CCD contributes greatly to the customer service we provide to this event and is not only appreciated but valued by those who attend the event.
