Looking for Opportunities

There are MANY ways to gain experience in various career fields and to conduct an internship or job search:

  1. Read about various career fields using the print resources in the CCS or UCS libraries or the online access to Vault (McIntire password required). CCS pays for a subscription to Vault, enabling McIntire students to view all Vault career guides free of charge.
  2. Consider speaking with faculty members, networking, and conducting informational interviews with professionals in your field of interest. Read more about networking.
  3. Consider an externship or job-shadowing experience. To read more about externing, visit our Networking page or speak with a career counselor.
  4. Make use of the University's externship resources.

"Commerce Career Services provides everything to help McIntire students succeed. From seminars about various career tracks to resume reviews to employer visits, Commerce Career Services is there for you as much or as little as you need them. Likewise, the classroom experience has truly prepared me for life after McIntire. The teachers and students themselves are so engaged and enjoy learning together. McIntire has provided me with unparalleled resources."
