Areas of Expertise: 

Professor Banyi specializes in accounting regulation and financial reporting. Her research uses archival market information to examine how accounting information impacts the incremental financing decisions made by firms. Professor Banyi has taught intermediate accounting and financial analysis at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Professional Activities:

Professor Banyi’s work has been presented at national conferences sponsored by the American Accounting Association as well as other conference and university research workshops. Before joining the McIntire School of Commerce, Professor Banyi was a faculty member at Oregon State University. Before earning her Ph.D., Professor Banyi worked as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick and as a Peace Corps volunteer. Professor Banyi holds a Virginia CPA certification.
