Professional Activities:
Professor Lindgren has developed an expertise in multimedia learning and Web design. He has published numerous articles and monographs in journals such as Journal for the Academy of Marketing Science; Journal of Services Marketing; Journal of Professional Services Marketing; Journal of Marketing Education; Journal of Retail Banking Services; Banker’s Magazine; Cost and Management; and Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, as well as for numerous proceedings of national and regional professional associations. He has coauthored 10 books and monographs in the field of marketing and serves on the editorial boards of marketing publications. His multimedia CD-ROM textbook titled Marketing: An Integrated Learning System is a first of its kind, published in 1996. His latest textbook, Marketing Best Practices (2002), is in second edition for Southwestern Publishing. He has numerous CD-ROM publications, including CDs for promotion, consumer behavior, marketing research, and Super Bowl advertising.
Professor Lindgren is an active consultant and has worked for numerous institutions in the area of multimedia development and Web design. He has designed Web sites for institutions and served as a consultant to the University of Virginia, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Touche Ross and Company, Berman Technologies, International Auto, Star (Texaco) Enterprise, Crestar Bank, Jefferson National Bank, First Pennsylvania Bank, Hamilton Bank, and the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta and Chicago. He has served on the faculty of numerous banking programs throughout the United States. These programs include the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management, The Savings Institutions, Advanced Marketing School, the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management, the Inter-American School of Savings and Loans, and the National Banking School. He is past vice president of the American Marketing Association and served on the National AMA Board of Directors. His proudest accomplishment was being named Outstanding Young Professor at the University of Virginia in 1983.
