Areas of Expertise:

Professor Awad is an expert in computer applications and anti-money laundering technology (AML) in commercial banking. His current research focuses on electronic commerce, especially for the banking sector. Additional topics include attributes of expertise in lending and electronic commerce applications in business. He teaches courses in networking, electronic commerce, system design, and knowledge management.

Professional Activities:

Professor Awad has presented numerous papers and keynote addresses on trends in Internet business, medical expert systems, trends in knowledge management, and strategizing in electronic commerce. He has conducted professional computer training and seminars in CIS countries, the Middle East, China, Mexico, Cambodia, and Australia since 1982. He has accepted strategic assignments for numerous U.S. and foreign banks, construction firms, sports arenas, and international organizations involving feasibility studies, computer conversion assessment, ERP installations, personnel training, contract negotiations, reorganization, and restructuring. He has been on the national speakers’ roster of the Association for Computing Machinery since 1992.
