M.S., Management Information Technology, University of Virginia
B.S., Computer Science/Finance, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Areas of Expertise:

Mr. Meier specializes in object-oriented (OO) application development, application architectures, service-oriented architectures, development frameworks, application servers, patterns, agile methodologies, and OO programming languages. He also has extensive experience with relational database management systems, network topology design security and management, and various operating systems. Mr. Meier has vast IT industry experience. He has worked in Fortune 5 companies; he is also the co-founder of a software development consulting firm.

Professional Activities:

Mr. Meier currently serves as MIT lecturer and the assistant dean for technology/chief technology officer at the McIntire School of Commerce. He is active in both the undergraduate and graduate MIT programs at the McIntire School of Commerce. His other responsibilities include enterprise computing management, computing infrastructure architecture, as well as network management. His consulting interests focus on guest speaking, mentoring in areas of analysis, design, and development of N-tiered business applications using a variety of technologies and architectures. Mr. Meier has been a member of the Association for Computing Machinery for 15 years and a member of the IEEE Association for 12 years.
