Michael G. Morris Associate Dean for Graduate Programs Office phone: 434-924-0776 Education: Ph.D., Management Information Systems, Indiana University Areas of Expertise: Professor Morris specializes in management information systems. His specific research interests include user adoption and acceptance of new technologies, user-centered systems development, usability engineering and measurement, and decision making using information technology. Professional Activities: Professor Morris is active in both the undergraduate IT and graduate MIT programs at the McIntire School of Commerce. He has published articles on socio-cognitive aspects of information systems development, implementation, and usage in many different academic and professional journals, including
MIS Quarterly; Organizational Behavior and Human Decision
Processes; Personnel Psychology; Decision Sciences; and
International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, among others.
Professor Morris currently serves on the editorial boards at MIS
Quarterly and Information Systems Research, widely regarded
as the top two journals in the field of information systems. He also
received the Most Developmental Associate Editor award at MIS
Quarterly in 2006. His research focuses on user acceptance, system
usability and the organizational impact of new technology introductions. Before joining the McIntire School of Commerce, he served on the faculty at the Air Force Institute of Technology and served as a visiting professor at the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration in both Helsinki and Mikkeli, Finland. |
