Areas of Expertise:

Leadership effectiveness, reducing employee theft, strategic planning, improving productivity, noneconomic global factors influencing the economy, and economic issues in Israel and the Middle East.

Professional Activities:

Professor Snyder has worked with numerous companies, including State Farm Insurance, IMI Cornelius, Figgie International, Merchants Tire and Auto, Hair Cuttery, General Electric, Pabst Brewing, Portec, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and Virginia Power on leadership, quality, and strategy issues. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of Textile Technology in Charlottesville, Va. He served as Gov. Charles Robb's policy adviser for regulatory reform from 1982 to 1985. In addition, he was co-chairman of the 1984 and chairman of the 1986 Governor's Conferences on Small Business in Virginia, and he was the recipient of the 1985 Virginia Chamber of Commerce Small Business Advocacy Award. In addition, he is the recipient of the 1991-1992 Virginia Social Science Association's Scholar in Business Award.
