Step 1.  Submit Official Test Scores

1A.  Students must submit official test scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) specifically to the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, code KC7-K3-31. (Do not select the generic UVA code. Scores will reach the M.S. in Commerce Program only if you select the McIntire code.)

Please be sure to have official scores sent directly to the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia (P.O. Box 400173, Charlottesville, VA 22904). To learn more about the GMAT, including tips on preparation or scheduling a test date, visit GMAT.

If you have already taken the GRE or plan to take it in order to apply to other graduate programs, then you may request to substitute the GRE for the GMAT as part of your application. To request an exception be made on your behalf, contact Emma Candelier at (434) 249-4992.

1B.  International students must also submit official test scores from an English language test.  We accept scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

TOEFL scores must be sent to McIntire School of Commerce code 5829. Do not select the generic UVA code, as there is a specific code for the McIntire School of Commerce. To be competitive, your score must be a minimum of 600 (paper based), 250 (online) or 100 (ibt). To learn more about the TOEFL or to schedule a test, visit ETS.

IELTS scores must be sent to the McIntire School of Commerce. To be competitive, your overall score should be a minimum of 7. To learn more about the IELTS or to schedule a test, visit IELTS.
