The McIntire School has been a CFA Program Partner with CFA Institute for four years, preparing students for the exam, which is administered in more than 85 countries, and exposing them to the concepts and principles that finance and investment professionals around the world have deemed integral to global practice. More than 70 percent of the CFA curriculum for the Level I exam is covered in the School’s finance and accounting courses.
As a CFA Program Partner, the School receives several scholarships each year from CFA Institute to award to fourth-year students. Scholarship recipients pay a portion of the exam registration fees and have program enrollment fees waived.
Finance Professor Karin Bonding CFA, who serves as UVA Director of the CFA Program Partner Initiative, said that more and more financial firms are seeking job applicants who hold the CFA charter. “Our students know that whether they aspire to become portfolio managers, analysts, financial consultants, or investment bankers, having the CFA charter will give them a leg up in applying for those positions.”
“An outstanding group of students applied for the scholarships,” Bonding said. “Good luck to all of our students taking the exam in June.”
