Adelaide Wilcox King Named
Senior Associate Dean

Jan. 20, 2006—Associate Professor Adelaide Wilcox King has been named Senior Associate Dean for the McIntire School, effective Jan. 18, 2006, the beginning of the spring semester.

Now in her tenth year on the School’s faculty, King is an original member of the first Integrated Core Experience (ICE) team and has taught in the M.S. in MIT Program since its redesign from a traditional residential format to an executive format. King also has been a member of the Graduate Programs Committee and an ICE team co-leader, and in recognition of the quality and impact of her scholarship, she was recently named to the editorial board of Academy of Management Review, one of the top journals in the management discipline.

Before pursuing a Ph.D., King had a successful career in the private sector.

“In addition to Adelaide’s extensive professional experience, she possesses the personal qualities essential to the job, including terrific values and a great dedication to the School and her colleagues,” said McIntire Dean Carl Zeithaml. “I trust her completely, and she is approaching the job with a real desire to learn, listen, and grow in the position. Please join me in congratulating Adelaide for this significant step in her professional career.”

Zeithaml also thanked the many people who played key leadership roles and enhanced the School and its programs through the past semester.

“The School operated during the fall semester without one of our colleagues serving as Senior Associate Dean, and a variety of people stepped up to perform the important tasks normally associated with this position,” he said. “The entire faculty and staff helped in many ways to support all our faculty and staff leaders through this time. I greatly appreciate your tremendous sense of community and your commitment to excellence, innovation, and ambition that are the foundation of our School.”
