With an early catalog in hand, William G. Crutchfield Jr. (McIntire '65) tells students how in 1974 he founded Crutchfield Corporation in his mother's basement with $1,000 in capital. Since then, Crutchfield Corporation has grown into one of the nation's largest specialty direct retailers.
