The Controller position is a critical role in a fast-paced team environment. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller manages the daily operations of the accounting and finance team. We are looking for a motivated team player who has an ability to synthesize complex information and communicate key takeaways and recommended actions for senior management in a simplified, concise manner. The ideal candidate for this role has 6+ years of accounting experience, inclusive of several years of public accounting experience and at least two years operating within an accounting team in the private sector.

Position Information
Job Responsibilities: 
  •  Own the financial close and reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  •  Oversee all technical accounting interpretations and related documentation
  •  Ensure compliance with all financial, tax and other required regulatory filings
  • Manage relationships with auditors and outside technical advisers
  • Support and advise senior management with financial analysis for strategic decision-making
  • Assist the CFO with preparation of materials for meetings of the board of directors
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive process improvements and streamline real-time reporting for business leaders

 

Qualifications: 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, preferred
  • Prior audit/attestation experience with medium to large public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and distillation large data sets (pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience with IntAcct accounting software, preferred
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, implementing ASC 606 revenue standard, preferred
  • Experience in software (SaaS) or technology industries, preferred
  • Prior work with companies funded by VC or PE organizations, preferred
  • Proactive attitude with desire to stay abreast of innovations in the industry and function
  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity
