About me:

Hi! My name is Kalkidan, and I am currently a third-year student at McIntire.

On Grounds, I am the Special Events Chair for the Ethiopian Eritrean Student Association. Through my position, I am able to help plan two large fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for charities in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Last year, we were able to raise thousands of dollars for Mary Joy Ethiopia, an organization that provides impoverished communities with basic necessities such as shelter and healthcare. This is an organization that means a lot to me, considering I was born in Ethiopia, and I strive to make a difference in my country. I am also a part of the PKG committee for the University Programs Council, where we work to plan concerts throughout the year. In my free time, I love cooking, reading, watching shows, and exploring new restaurants.

One of my favorite things about McIntire is the fact that I am able to pursue so many different interests. I enjoy exploring and learning new things every day, and with McIntire I am able to do so.

Fun fact: I love Mexican food!
