About me:
Hi everyone! My name is Shoaib, and I am a third-year student at McIntire pursuing B.S. in Commerce with intended concentrations in Management and Information Technology. I am also a Computer Science major. So, talk business and technology with me!
I grew up in Pakistan and lived there for 10 years before immigrating to the United States. From childhood, I have really enjoyed traveling, exploring, and learning about countries and geography. In my free time, you can find me scrolling through Google Maps and exploring around Grounds.
I love that UVA has so much diversity in student organizations and extracurricular involvement. I have been involved with Muslim Students Association, where I have met a lot of amazing people. I am also part of Forge, where I completed Node Pro, an advanced data science course. During my first semester at UVA, I also learned some karate with the Shotokan Karate Club. Lastly, I am also a usability testing participant with the UVA Information Technology Services, where I test tools and provide feedback.
My favorite thing about McIntire is the people. My professors have been nothing short of phenomenal and very welcoming. I have really enjoyed getting to know the students in my block and have learned so much from them during discussions. I am my block’s representative and I look forward to bringing everyone together with the help of my peers in Commerce Council.
Fun fact: I read my entire human geography textbook twice in 10th grade.
