The Employer-in-Residence Program not only helps to prepare McIntire students for the recruiting process, but also gives employers an opportunity to engage with the School's outstanding students. Employers can participate in any of the following:
- Mock interviews: Meet individually with students and help them to refine their interviewing skills. An excellent way to get to know students on an individual basis, mock interviews can be scheduled throughout the day or for part of the day. Students must sign up for employer slots in advance.
- General networking: Employers can speak with students for a few minutes between classes, critique resumes, or simply get to know students on an informal basis. Employers can sponsor coffee (and food if they wish) to be brought to Rouss & Robertson Halls any time from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
- Employer Corner: Commerce Career Services will display employer's promotional items in the Commerce Career Services lobby for students to view while they wait for advising appointments and take with them upon leaving the CCS office. Items will be rotated periodically throughout the semester, ensuring equitable representation for participating employers.
Commerce Career Services thanks the employers who work with us to provide the Employer-in-Residence Program to our students. If your company is interested in participating in this program, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call Jeannine Lawrie at 434-297-6091.
