Lunar New Year Celebration

4:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Rouss & Robertson Halls, Fourth Floor Lobby & Reading Room

Based on the lunisolar Chinese calendar, Lunar New Year is one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays. It is celebrated across the globe in Greater China, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand, among many others, including at McIntire! The origin of Chinese New Year is centuries old, and the holiday gains significance because of several myths and tradition. Join us for a buffet of rice, dumplings, egg rolls, and citrus fruits (for good luck), alongside common Lunar New Year activities and traditions such as paper cutting, chopstick competitions, and more. 2018 marks the Year of the Dog, according to the Chinese zodiac, so come celebrate the Lunar New Year with good luck and good fortune!
