Careers in Finance Series 2019: Technology & Finance Panel
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Rouss & Robertson Halls, Room 120
The intersection between finance and technology is hardly a new phenomenon. Technology has dramatically changed the way the financial industry trades securities, builds investment products, and interfaces with clients. The Finance & Technology panel, part of McIntire’s Careers in Finance Series, will expose students to how the financial industry has addressed emerging technologies like blockchain/cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, peer-to-peer solutions, cybersecurity, and more. We will speak to financial professionals both in large financial institutions and fintech startups about how they are using these new technologies during this spring panel of alumni representatives (panelists will participate both virtually and in person).
Confirmed alumni panelists include
- Kristine Cheesman, SVP, Head of Innovation & Strategic Programs, HSBC
- Trey Mason, Senior Manager, Financial Analysis, Capital One
- Joe Muscari, Managing Director, Head of Securitized Products Portfolio Management, Barclays
- Jacob Peters, Analyst, J.P. Morgan (Asset Management)
The panel will be moderated by McIntire’s Mike Gallmeyer, Professor of Commerce and Director of the Center for Investors and Financial Markets.
