Mr. Meier currently serves as the Associate Dean for Technology/Chief Technology Officer and IT Lecturer at the McIntire School of Commerce. He is responsible for overseeing the McIntire School’s Information Technology department. This group provides leadership in all areas of IT management and operations to support the mission of the School. In addition to his administrative role, Mr. Meier has taught courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum on software development, analysis and design, and networking.
Mr. Meier has over 30 years of IT experience. Prior to his current appointment as Associate Dean of IT at the McIntire School, Mr. Meier held technical and IT leadership positions at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, General Electric, Value America, and Dominion Digital. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia.
Mr. Meier has been a presenter at the Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications (OOPSLA) conferences. He has also been the recipient of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award for the C# Programming Language multiple times.
