Mr. Meier currently serves as the Associate Dean for Technology/Chief Technology Officer and IT Lecturer at the McIntire School of Commerce. He is responsible for overseeing the McIntire School’s Information Technology department, which provides leadership in all areas of IT management and operations to support the mission of the School. In addition to his administrative role, Mr. Meier has taught courses in the undergraduate and graduate curricula on software development, analysis and design, networking and IT infrastructure, as well as database management.

Mr. Meier has over 30 years of IT experience. Prior to his current appointment as Associate Dean for IT at the McIntire School, Mr. Meier held senior IT leadership positions at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, Financial News Network, MCI, General Electric, Value America, and Dominion Digital. He holds a B.S. in Finance/Computer Information Systems from the Virginia Tech and an M.S. in the Management of Information Systems from the University of Virginia.

 Mr. Meier has been a presenter at the Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications (OOPSLA) conferences. He has also been the recipient of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award for the C# Programming Language multiple times.
