Most memorable class

Forensic Accounting. It was so interesting and made me think of accounting in a whole new way!

Leveraging the M.S. in Accounting degree in the workplace

Even more than the technical knowledge I learned, the interpersonal skills and communication development I received at UVA has been the most helpful and helps me to stand out.

A typical day on the job

The best part of my job is that every day can look a little different. I work with the Senior and Manager on my team, completing either audit procedures (testing internal controls or substantive testing) or quarterly review procedures. The day is always filled with talking with our team, as well as talking to the client.

What makes the job great

The people—I love the team atmosphere and the opportunity learn from those above me, as well as helping the newer team members develop.

Advice for future M.S. in Accounting students

Take full advantage of meeting the rest of the students in the program; not only are they a great network, but they can also become great friends.

Preparation for professional success and leadership in the workplace

McIntire taught me how to become a more well-rounded professional as well as important skills, including how to write memos, give presentations, and effectively work on a team.
