M.S. in Accounting 2013 (Financial Reporting & Assurance Track)
Now: PricewaterhouseCoopers, Experienced Associate, Forensic Services (McLean, VA)
Most memorable class
I really enjoyed “Special Topics in Accounting” and “Forensic Accounting.” Courses in the program were taught in a very exciting way, and kept me engaged, with active discussions, guest speakers, and team assignments. The content was very relevant and current and helped me stay at the top of my starting class at PwC.
The value of Commerce Career Services
Commerce Career Services was very helpful in my job search process and resulted in a job I absolutely love! The CCS staff helped me enhance my resume by helping me highlight my strengths, practice interviewing skills, and engage with employers and recruiters through ample face time during the week and at Commerce Career Day.
Typical day on the job
I am in forensic accounting and work on multiple types of engagements, including accounting fraud investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) investigations, anti-corruption compliance assessments, and FCPA due diligence. In my role, I perform document reviews and forensic analyses, hold client discussions, and have opportunities participate in interviews.
What makes the job great
I love how enthusiastic my team is on a daily basis. Having a passion for the nature of the work really makes it a joy to come to work every day.
