Why did you choose McIntire? I chose McIntire because of its commitment to prepare each student for their individual career. Professionalism is both expected and developed at McIntire. This training coupled with accounting courses is meant to prepare you for the CPA exam, which is different from other programs.
What do you enjoy so far? I have enjoyed exploring Charlottesville. The city and surrounding area are full of great places to eat, hike, and listen to live music, each of which I’ve done so far. I also really enjoyed our orientation program. It gave me the opportunity to become familiar with Grounds, the McIntire facilities, and my classmates.
What has surprised you? I have been surprised by how quickly I made good friends. In just a week, I found people I enjoy spending time with both in and outside the classroom. I have even met people who will be working in the same office as me next year, so my UVA community will be coming with me to the workplace!
Fun facts about yourself: I spent a semester abroad in Vienna, Austria. While I was abroad, I visited seven other countries in addition to Austria. I have 33 first cousins.
Hobbies: Running (I plan to complete my first half marathon in 2018), visiting wineries and breweries, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and trying new healthy recipes
