M.S. in Commerce 2019, University of Virginia
B.A. in Political Science, Davidson College

Why did you choose UVA’s M.S. in Commerce Program? I chose the M.S. in Commerce Program because I wanted a business education that built on my undergrad skills. I attended a liberal arts college that helped me develop soft skills such as speaking, writing, and critical thinking. The M.S. in Commerce Program saw those as strengths that a business education should build upon while also helping me develop harder, more technical skills that I did not get in undergrad.
What do you enjoy about the program so far? The program has been simultaneously challenging, but very supportive. The M.S. in Commerce Program is very interdisciplinary and has already exposed me to a lot of different areas for which I have little to no experience. The program has pushed me to dive into the unknown while also not making me feel afraid to fail. I find this to be a great way to develop as a student who will be entering a tumultuous job market soon.
Fun facts about me: I lived in Melbourne, Australia, during my junior year. I have a 12-year-old dog named “Lucky.” I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan even though I've never been to Pittsburgh.
