Why did you choose UVA’s M.S. in Commerce Program? I chose the M.S. in Commerce Program because I wanted to combine my analytical skills with the business tools I'll need later in my career. The global immersion component of the program also peaked my interest because it encapsulates everything we'll learn throughout the program in a global business setting. Charlottesville is also a welcoming, diverse community.
What do you enjoy about the program so far? I have enjoyed meeting many people from different universities and learning what brought them here to UVA. The professors all want us to succeed and promote a stimulating learning environment. The free coffee in the graduate lounge is awesome too.
What has surprised you about the program so far? I was surprised at the number of resources available (a lot!) for my job search. Moreover, we have one class dedicated ot help us nail the case interview process, a type of job interview that is increasingly common with employers. This semester I have 8 a.m. classes every day, so in a way that has surprised me as well.
- I've skydived 13 times.
- I drove a bus as a part time job during my undergrad.
- I studied Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan last year.
Hobbies: I enjoy visiting craft breweries, hiking, and watching stand-up comedy.
