M.S. in Commerce 2018, University of Virginia
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering 2017, University of Virginia
Track: Business Analytics

Why did you choose UVA’s M.S. in Commerce Program? I have always been very interested in the business world, so I chose the M.S. in Commerce Program instead of pursuing a graduate degree in mechanical engineering. I believe the combination of an engineering degree and a business degree will give me plenty of career options. I also liked the fact that even though this program is only one year, the curriculum still covers various different fields and topics. Being able to stay in the beautiful town to Charlottesville didn't hurt either.
What do you enjoy about the program so far? So far I have really enjoyed how diverse everyone is in this program. Students from different majors, schools and even different countries all have their unique input during class discussions, and I believe the more diverse ideas there are, the more we benefit and learn.
What has surprised you about the program so far? I am amazed by how patient and helpful the professors are. They will answer any questions you have, whether they are questions about academic subjects or the job search process, or just general questions about adjusting to grad school life.
