Why did you choose UVA’s M.S. in Commerce Program? With my heavy liberal arts background, I thought the M.S. in Commerce would provide me with a valuable skill set that would advance me in whatever I chose to do. I would not have given up my undergraduate experience in History and French for the world, but to have the opportunity to obtain a business master's in only 10 months is truly incredible.
What do you enjoy about the program so far? I like that the program is fast-paced and exciting. The progress you make in terms of how you see the world and the skills you acquire becomes visible very quickly. My fellow students are also very dynamic and engaged. They make the journey that much better.
What has surprised you about the program so far? I am surprised at how much I have learned in such a short period of time. The program has also surprised me at how engaging it is to me as a former liberal arts major. There is truly an effort to develop the whole person behind the program.
- I have run four marathons.
- The past two summers, I was a history tour guide, which included dressing up in Victorian period dress.
- I once climbed up an active volcano in Tanzania.
