Senior Vice President and Business CIO, Genworth Financial
Deborah Cassidy is a SVP and Business CIO at Genworth Financial in Richmond, Va., where she is responsible for the company's financial, actuarial, investment, human resources, risk, compliance and legal systems.
Deborah has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, with expertise in strategic planning, process efficiencies, large system implementations, business partnering, and IT best practice.
She has held senior management positions at Allianz Global Assistance, Tredegar Industries, Vie de France Corporation, Hemingway and Associates, Frank Chervan, and Trinity Corporation. She was also the creator of CASCOM, an independent IT consulting firm that represented clients including the American Red Cross, Marriott Corporation, and numerous nonprofit organizations.
Deborah received her M.S. in MIT from the McIntire School of Commerce and holds a bachelor of arts degree in business systems from Mary Baldwin College.
Deborah is also very active in the local community and is a founder and charter member of the Richmond Mid-Cap CIO Roundtable. Formerly on the Executive Committee of the Greater Richmond Technology Council, Deborah remains involved as a RichTech board member. She is a member of the Richmond Women in Technology group, and mentors graduate students at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business. She also serves on the McIntire School's M.S. in MIT Advisory Board.
