Richard “Shark” Forsten ’85 has been re-elected to another five-year term on the Appoquinimink School Board in New Castle County, Del. A Partner in the Wilmington, Del., law offices of Saul Ewing LLP, "Shark" practices in commercial real estate and business litigation, and in addition to serving on his local school board, has spent the past year serving as President of the Delaware State Bar Association.

Michael Goodove

Michael Goodove ’89, a Personal Injury Attorney and Partner in the Norfolk, Va., law firm of Swartz, Taliaferro, Swartz & Goodove, has been appointed to Southern Bank’s Hampton Roads Regional Advisory Board. Goodove was selected as he is a leader in the business and overall community as well as a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads. Southern Bank was founded in 1901 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern BancShares (N.C.) Inc. With its corporate headquarters located in Mount Olive, N.C., the bank has total assets of approximately $2 billion and over 60 locations serving North Carolina and Virginia.

Allen (“A.J.”) Dudley Jr. ’91 was elected to serve as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Franklin County, Va., for a four-year term beginning in January 2016.

Natasha Novikov (M.S. in Accounting ‘06/YMP) is one of 32 CPAs age 40 and under honored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for their contributions to the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation with the inaugural Standing Ovation, which recognizes the best young CPAs who exhibit outstanding professional achievement in various specialty credential areas.

Lydia Xu

Lydia Xu ’06 and Jeffrey Zolman were married June 27, 2015, in Washington, D.C. Lydia is a Director of Client Development at health care technology company Kyruus; Jeff is the Vice President at RFE Investment Partners, a private equity firm in New Canaan, Conn. The two met as graduate students at Wharton and currently reside in Manhattan.


Michael Langman ’07 (M.S. in Accounting ’08) and Lyn (Mandigo) Langman ’07 (M.S. in Accounting ’08) welcomed their first child, a son named Matthew Robert Langman, born Nov. 17, 2015. The family resides in Virginia Beach, Va., with their dog, Elliewood. Michael is a Senior Manager at KPMG, and Lyn is a Manager at Capital Group.

Bradford James Manning ’07, Founder and Principal of private investment firm Tiger Lily Capital, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the world’s leading private funding source for research on inherited retinal disease. Manning has been an active member of the Foundation Fighting Blindness for over a decade, including being a co-founder of its Young Professionals Initiative in the New York City area. At Tiger Lily, Manning is focused on sourcing early- and mid-stage investments in the health care industry. Before Tiger Lily, Manning served in various investment roles in private equity and wealth management offices in New York. He hopes to leverage his investment experience and relationships in the biotechnology space to further the mission of the foundation.

Tyler Wallace Harding ’08 was profiled by WeLoveCLT in June 2015 for her work with the Field to Fork program in Charlotte, N.C. Field to Fork promotes child wellness by growing a healthy pizza garden with elementary-age children in Charlotte.

Donna Buckner

Donna Buckner (M.S. in MIT '13) moved to Jacksonville, Fla., in June 2015 and is Information Technology Executive Vice President for Wounded Warrior Project. Says Buckner, "I am thrilled to be working with this worthwhile organization and find that I am successfully leading a team of 40+ IT professionals largely due to what I learned at UVA."

Taylor Richardson '13 has been helping fellow 'Hoo Mollie Burch (A&S '13) launch CROSBY by Mollie Burch (, a women's contemporary clothing line distinguished by custom abstract prints, bold colors, and feminine silhouettes. The two have successfully launched the line with a spring/summer 2016 collection and are excited to bring their fall 2016 collection to the market.
