Foundations in Global Commerce

Foundations in Global Commerce is designed to help students better understand and become more conversant in the complex and dynamic global context in which businesses operate. Objectives are to (1) understand the concept of globalization, appreciate its history, and establish a framework for analyzing the business environment in a global context; (2) examine the key dimensions of the global context and how these are shaping economic opportunities in a variety of countries; (3) understand the implications for business and how specific companies are responding; and (4) build a foundation for subsequent GIE courses and experiences.
